Description
Dustorage scans your entire WordPress site to find media files that are no longer used anywhere — not attached to any post, page, featured image, custom field, or site setting. Instead of deleting files immediately, Dustorage places them in a quarantine period, giving you time to review and restore anything deleted by mistake before it’s permanently removed.

How It Works
- Dustorage scans your media library and checks each file against multiple usage rules.
- Files found unused are placed in quarantine (not deleted immediately).
- After the quarantine period ends (default: 7 days), files are permanently deleted.
- You can review and restore quarantined files at any time before that.
Installation
- Upload the
dustorage-media-library-cleanupfolder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory, or install the plugin directly through the WordPress plugins screen. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
- Go to Dustorage Cleaner in your admin menu to run your first scan and configure settings.

Will this delete my files immediately?

No. Files are first placed in a quarantine period (configurable, default 7 days) before permanent deletion, so you have time to review and restore anything if needed.

What counts as “used”?

Dustorage checks featured images, content inside posts and pages, post meta (including custom fields), attachment relationships, and site options such as the custom logo and site icon.
